Copra For Cash!

Image
Copra Price, Updated Daily Here in the Philippines the buying and reselling of copra is a pretty good business. As the semi-truthful Wikipedia states: "Copra ... is the dried, white flesh of the coconut from which coconut oil is extracted. Traditionally, the coconuts are sun-dried, especially for export, before the oil, also known as copra oil, is pressed out."  Since it rains nearly every day here, we dry our copra in a big cinder block building I refer to as the "copra cooker". Our copra business profited about $5,000 USD last year, and this year if we get lucky we'll double that. So what do you need to become a copra tycoon? You're gonna need capital, lots and lots and lots of capital.  You're gonna need much more filthy lucre than you ever imagined.  Why?  Because the Gods of copra have a snarky sense of humor: you will go for days without anyone selling you copra, then suddenly one day everyone and their crazy uncle Fred will be selling you multiple...

HUGE Crypto Hack!

Image
Pic stolen from: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BwBi7tYqt_8 Good grief!  A major cryptocurrency hack has just reared its ugly head all over the world!  Apparently targeting the NPM modules which are written in JavaScript, (no, I don't understand that tech speak either!), it will reroute crypto you are attempting to send away from your intended destination to an address created by the bad guys. Want more info?  Check these out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BwBi7tYqt_8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uDmFahsOa48 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R0M2TL7RARw This is major hack, possibly executed by a state sponsored entity.  I know most people will reflexively blame North Korea, and while North Korea is most certainly an odious place governed by odious people, IMHO most successful cyber attacks are executed by the United States and/or Israel.  And I say this as an American who (mostly) supports Israel.   There are too many powerful groups with a ve...

Atomic Wallet Sucks

Image
This screenshot was taken of the balance of Tron, staked and unstaked, on my Atomic Wallet.  Besides the fact that the Tron "Pending withdrawal" were never successfully withdrawn, notice that there is no way the amount of Tron in any of the categories, (Available, Staked, Unclaimed, Pending; "Total Votes" relates to something else), add up to 926.  Yet another cryptocurrency that fails to be handled properly by the Atomic Wallet interface. This was the fourth crypto that Atomic Wallet choked on, after Cosmos, Cardano, and Monero.  Fortunately, just like its predecessors I was able to successfully move my Tron off this Atomic Wallet using the private keys.   Which brings me to a point that I must grudgingly admit, namely, that easy access to each crypto's private keys is a good feature of this wallet.  It's just a shame that we need access to them in the first place. I am gradually moving whatever little bits of crypto are left on my Atomic Wallet off to ano...

The Good, The Bad, and The Hideous. Part Two - Hideously Overdue Update

Image
I suppose after more than two years to call this an update is to stretch the meaning of the word "update", but here it is: THEY'RE ALL BAD! Novatech and Cryptoprogram were nothing but Ponzis, and the people that were running them are criminals.  I sincerely hope they go to jail. After several years of trying, and failing, to not get ripped off by any of the various schemes promoted by shaky folks on YouTube, it has finally gotten through my thick head that you will not make money on any of these pyramids, Ponzi Schemes, or fly-by-night crypto tokens unless you are: a) lucky beyond all statistical probability, or b) one of the scumbags in on the scheme. I'm not gonna dwell on this, because most folks already know this, or if they don't, probably won't believe me until they painfully discover it for themselves. The BEST way to make money is to park it in a widely diversified, low overhead cost ETF stock fund like VTI.  Having put at least half your money there, ...

The Good, The Bad, and The Hideous. Part One - The Bad and The Hideous.

Image
So it has been about ten months since I started dabbling with various crypto DEFI projects.  How have I done?  Have I made lots of loot? The short answer is NO .  In fact, to date I have lost $3,675 USD!  But, fool that I am, I have not lost all hope in DEFI projects.  I am still in two of them, and if either one delivers, (you know the chance of both of them succeeding is minimal), I should at least break even, and possibly make a nice profit. In this post, I am going to quickly describe all the cruddy projects I wasted money on, with the hope that with those turkeys out of the way, in the future I can lavish praise on the projects that actually worked out well for me. Below is a spreadsheet showing my various DEFI "investments".  Yeah, it's probably too small to read, but if you have a massive display, or fantastic eyes, maybe you can discern some of what I'm about to describe written there. The first bad investment I made was something called THORWallet...

How Are My Investments Doing?

Image
If you've read my last few posts, in late April/early May I had high hopes of making big bucks.  I had invested $200 each in three "arbitrage" projects, $300 in some bitcoin "miners", and was hoping that the $400 I had put into DeFi pools on ThorWallet were going to turn around, and become profitable again. So how have things worked out?  The following pic gives a nice visual summary of the status of my "investments": As it turns out, bitcoin "miners" are simply a Ponzi scheme; I will be lucky to get my $300 back.  With the collapse of the price of crypto, the DeFi pools on ThorWallet have also collapsed.  So far I have only gotten $78 back out of my $400.  And most disturbingly, all three of the "arbitrage" projects turned out to be scams, and quickly rug pulled, taking all their investors' money.  I gave these bastards $600, and only managed to get back $25.  Ouch!! To add to this misery, my crypto now is worth at best half of...

Arbitrage Obsession!

Image
So I joined another crazily profitable (maybe?) arbitrage site because, well ..... why not?  I can risk $200 if I stand a pretty good chance of making thousands. The site I joined is called Swapnex.io , and if you join it via my referral link, (  https://swapnex.io/ref/arph001 ), I will be eternally grateful. Which brings up a good point.  While I will be very, very, very grateful if you join via my referral link, that may not be in your best interest.  This is NOT because a referral link causes you any harm, but rather because if you join under a YouTuber who actually knows what he is doing, (such as Alan Cosens or Justin Pratt ), you may get some additional benefits you won't get when joining under me. Besides, these guys know their stuff, and can "sniff out" when a project seems fishy or not.  For example, here is their take on the Metafiyielders.com site which most of the other YouTubers are salivating all over themselves in an effort to heavily promote....

It's All About The Arbitrage!

Image
I'm baaack!  It's been more than a year since my last post, and about as long since I wrote off all attempts at making money online as a foolish endeavor.  But I am back to say that, thanks to crypto, we now can make money online, and in ways that are practically effortless. I've been putzing around with various ways of using crypto to make money, and while ANYTHING INVOLVING CRYPTO IS INHERENTLY RISKY, I believe I've hit upon a couple websites that are a reasonable risk for MONEY YOU WON'T BE DESTITUTE IF YOU LOSE.   I'll go into further detail on each of these guys in future posts, but since crypto is time sensitive, let me go ahead and get you links to each of them now. The first two are arbitrage sites, where you make money by buying crypto at a slightly cheaper price off one exchange, then selling it for a slightly higher price on another.  To do this manually would be very difficult, so what these sites offer is software that searches out crypto price diff...

The Man Who Cast His Memories To The Stars

Image
He was an older guy, overweight, who walked slowly with a cane.  Most clear nights he could be found sitting on a park bench after sunset, slumping over the back of the bench and tilting his head backwards to look at the darkening sky. Curiosity got the better of me one evening, so I walked up to him and asked him what he was looking for up there in the emptiness.   He smiled back at me, and replied, "I'm not looking for anything, young man." My quizzical look prompted him to add, "I'm casting my memories to the stars."  Evidently he believed that he could "preserve" the pleasant memories of his life by mentally sending them out into space.   I didn't ask him how he thought such a thing could possibly work, but instead asked him if he were preserving all his memories, or just the pleasant ones. He scoffed at such a stupid question.  "Of course not!  Sad, unhappy, painful memories: they are all cast into the pit of oblivion, where they belo...

Phooey on Making Money Online!!

Image
Well poop!  With the latest make-money-online fiasco, (coinpot.co turned out, after two years, to be a scam), I've pretty much given up on all these "instant online riches".  Yeah, if I had listened to my own advice , I'd be better off.  But no one has ever accused me of NOT being hard headed.  (Hey, wanna buy some really cool mosquito t-shirts? ) Since the goal of raking in vast globs of wealth via this blog seem to be nothing more than an illusion, the question arises: what the heck should I do with it? Well ...... just because I absolutely SUCK at all forms of sales and salesmanship, doesn't mean I can't use the internet to increase my wealth.  I'll just have to stick to investing, (or speculating, as the case may be). Another blog on investing?  Ugh.  Listen, just buy a good, low cost mutual fund, (most Vanguard funds are safe choices), and use dollar cost averaging to add to your investments.  Do this faithfully, and you'll eventually ...

Cryptocurrency Opportunities via Coinpot.co

Image
Oh good grief!  Nevermind ..... Coinpot.co turned out to be a scam! Moral of the story: be very, very, VERY careful who you send money to on the internet!! Great news!  The folks over at Coinpot.co  have recently implemented a " VIP Rewards " program!  Now in addition to accumulating crypto via faucet drips , we can also earn a nice rate of return. For those of you unfamiliar with Coinpot, it is a cryptocurrency microwallet , (IMHO the BEST cryptocurrency microwallet), which as I've already stated allows us to accumulate tiny amounts of cryptocurrency via faucet drips.  What is a "faucet drip"?  It is simply the small payout we get from visiting a cryptocurrency faucet .   Following, (copied from my cryptocurrency page ), are some direct links to the Coinpot faucets: Bitfun.co – a great Coinpot faucet that can pay as frequently as every three minutes. Moonbit.co.in – Coinpot Bitcoin faucet. Moonbitcoin.cash – Coinpot Bitcoin Cash faucet. Mo...

The 20 Million Year Warrior

Image
Imagine this:  Out in the vast emptiness of space , beyond the galaxies and gases, beyond even the infinitely powerful pull of crushingly massive singularities. a tiny spherical object floats motionless.  Dark to the outside world, if you were to peel off layer after layer of its thick metal shell, you'd eventually find inside what appears to be a living being .  Or maybe the remnants of a once living being, as in its current state it's hard to determine whether it is still alive or not. Protruding from the surface of the sphere is a multitude of gun barrels, laser tubes, or other types of unknown weaponry.  Many of these projections are damaged, and the surface of the sphere itself is marred and gouged, as if it had been under a severe attack . Lights on a small control panel inside still flicker off and on, and tiny monitors flash incomprehensible symbols.  Visual gauges indicate various levels of something, (fuel, energy), will soon be depleted, while minuscu...

T-Shirts via Teespring

Image
Remember those Mosquito T-shirts we were selling via Teespring?  To date, despite our inept marketing , we have a net profit of about $60.00 from them.  Not too shabby, but certainly in no way positively impacting our standard of living . As $60.00 in online sales is a large amount, (at least for us), we decided to attempt to repeat our success.  In honor of the stupid Coronavirus that we're all hiding from , (unsuccessfully, IMHO), we created another T-shirt , and a Mask , to also sell on Teespring.  T-Shirt Front T-Shirt Back Mask These two products we have been mostly using the youlikehits.com website to promote .  The jury is still out over how successful this will be. As I've written before, marketing is easily my Achilles heel .  No matter how I try, I always feel slimy when promoting a product, even a product I think is great , and fully believe in .  This being the case, trying to sell stuff on the internet is probably not such a great pursuit...

An Easy Way to Make Some Money

Image
There is an almost guaranteed way to make some money on the internet.  I've been puttering around with this site for about six months now, and I have made over $30.00 every month with it.   This site is InboxDollars , and it is one of those "survey sites" .  If you work at it, you should be able to make at least $2.00 / day slogging through surveys. To be honest, now that I am "retired" I am spending less time on the site, (how many surveys can a person do before they suffer brain damage ?), but it is a way to make some beer money, and it absolutely pays.  I've cashed out to my PayPal account multiple times with no problems: If you have a lot of spare time, or you're stuck somewhere, (waiting at the dentist's office, accompanying your wife as she shops for clothes), it may be worth your time to putter around with it too.  The pay is much higher than cryptocurrency faucets , but I still wouldn't count on InboxDollars as your primary source of inc...

Youlikehits.com - a Fun Source for Traffic?

Image
Whilst wading through the flotsam and jetsam of " make money on the internet " videos on YouTube, I stumbled across one, (  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=az40wFyaf_k ) that introduced me to a site I had never heard of, namely youlikehits.com .   The idea behind this website is that you acquire "points" for viewing other people's websites , or retweeting one of their twitter posts , and then in return, you can use your points to "pay" other people to view your website, or retweet one of your twits.  ("Tweet", "Twit", "Twitter, Twitter"  -  I feel like I'm speaking to Tweety Bird !)  Ideally it's a great way to get some free traffic. Realistically I'm not sure how valuable the views or retweets you receive will be, (for all I know this site is infested with bots ), but it's kinda fun, and I view " making money on the internet" these days as more of a form of entertainment than a serious profes...

Play it Safe, or Shoot for the Moon

Image
One of the dilemmas anyone attempting to make money online will eventually face is whether to play it safe, and make a guaranteed, but tiny amount, or go for the big payout, with the risk of earning absolutely nothing. " Slow but steady " may indeed win the race, but if your income is only pennies a day, I don't see how you can't help but be overwhelmed by expenses. At this point I feel obligated to point out that the prudent path in life is to acquire a skill or three people are willing to pay big money for, (said skills are often difficult and time consuming to learn), and then WORK HARD AND LIVE BELOW YOUR MEANS .  Ideally then your income will exceed your expenses, and you can blow the excess on wild living place any leftover loot in the stable investments of your choice.  Like they say, it's not rocket surgery .  However, this is a blog about making "easy" online money , so we'll just ignore that sage advice. So you majored in Art Appreciatio...

John Waters Saved My Life!

Image
John Mathew Smith & www.celebrity-photos.com from Laurel  Maryland, USA / CC BY-SA (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/2.0) John Waters saved my life! Not literally, of course, although perhaps literarily: his book Carsick reawakened a sense of purpose and adventure in me that I had been letting atrophy through neglect.  In my long career as a COBOL computer programmer I spent too many years spent digging through old, brittle computer code for stifling bureaucracies , I suppose, and lost my sense of amazement at this crazy circus we call life. Sometimes the best expression of responsibility is to behave irresponsibly. The second huge way this book was a blessing from God was that it rescued me from my feeble attempts to sell crap from Clickbank and other bottom dwelling "affiliate marketplaces".  Fortunately, I suppose, (although I'm not proud or moral enough to refuse the money), I have yet to sell anything from Clickbank or its imitators, so I'm no...

Our First Campaign!

Image
Yesterday we launched our first marketing campaign.  Woo hoo! We are following the method explained in the YouTube video, " Make $500+ PER POST ", basically following it step by step.  We are even promoting the same product, the " Cinderella Solution " weight loss method. Will we really make $500 per post? Here are the details if you too want to try this, and make "$500 per post!": 1.  Instructional video we followed:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SMprgsBmElA 2.  Product we promoted:  https://c75d8vtdrldy2oac2rw3ubfo4t.hop.clickbank.net/ 3.  PLR Article we used as a template for our weebly page:  http://plrplr.com/93468/how-to-drop-weight-and-become-healthier-using-these-7-simple-everyday-life-tips/ 4.  Our weebly page:  https://zapthefat.weebly.com/  To date we've added two answers to weight loss questions on Quora , with a link to ZaptheFat at the end of each answer. Will we make any money from this?  Stay tuned! P.S....

Brief Recap - Novice Affiliate, and a History of Failure

The purpose of this blog is to test a few of the multitude of " Get Rich Quick! " schemes on the unholy-tube , and see if just maybe any of them will actually generate a buck or two.  However, before launching face first into this fool's errand, we thought it might be wise to give a quick summary of our " success " generating online income to date. Years ago we managed to snag the fantastic title, " Novice Affiliate " for our fledgling channel.  If you look at our videos , (a sometimes painful task!), you'll discover that we really have NOT done all that well. We did have an Amazon based tea store, using a method we learned about from Franklin Hatchett .  That store was slowly building up a customer base, when the poop heads at Bluehost accused us of introducing viruses onto their servers, and yanked our webpages.  (Beware of ANYONE trying to get you to signup with Bluehost!!)  With the loss of our online tea store our affiliate income basically d...
